Cobleskill Wins Men's Basketball Game Over Wells

The Wells College men's basketball team lost 80-51 at SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The Fighting Tigers led by 11 at halftime and went on to a 29-point victory.

Cobleskill shot 48.4 percent from the floor by making 31 of 64 field-goal attempts. Wells was 3-for-27 from behind the 3-point arc and 20-for-60 from the floor in the game.

Six minutes into the first half, a 3-pointer for Zach D'Arpino gave Wells a 9-5 lead, which was the largest Express lead of the night, which was matched when Wells led 11-7 and 13-9. But Cobleskill's 19-4 run that followed gave the Fighting Tigers a 28-17 advantage that they never relinquished.

Dylan Frost led Wells with 12 points and added eight rebounds. Jalen Tribble had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Zach D'Arpino had seven points and four assists.

Knox Lendall made his first career start, played 14 minutes and scored two points. Joe Stoj started his first game and scored four points in 23 minutes.

Wells is back home Saturday, Jan. 26 for a NEAC game against Penn State Abington at 3 p.m.
