Men's Basketball Stymies Keuka, Wins Third Straight

The Wells College men's basketball team earned its third straight win with a 61-53 victory at Keuka College Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Keuka Park, N.Y. Ty McBride and Rich Ross each scored 14 points to lead Wells.

It was one of the best defensive performances of the season for Wells as the Express held Keuka to the lowest point total by any Wells opponent this season. Keuka was 18-for-60 from the floor as Wells blocked seven shots, had 12 steals, and forced 21 turnovers. Two Keuka players combined for 38 points and the other six players to appear combined for 16 points. Keuka shot 1-for-13 from behind the 3-point line.

Keuka led 13-7 midway through the opening half but Wells went on a 17-2 run to seize control of the contest. Wells led 29-19 at halftime.

The Wells lead grew to 15 points in the second half. Wells shot 7-for-10 at the foul line down the stretch to seal the win.

Ross was the leading rebounder for Wells with 10. Dylan Frost had eight points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots. Jalen Tribble had seven points and six steals.

Wells improved to 6-17 overall and 5-10 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Keuka is 9-13 overall and 5-9 in the NEAC.

Wells wraps up its season Saturday, Feb. 16 at home against SUNY Poly at 3 p.m. Wells will celebrate Senior Day prior to the game.
