Men’s Basketball Team Tunes Up with ESF Scrimmage

The Wells College men's basketball team looked sharp in a spirited scrimmage with visiting SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry on Friday, Oct. 25. The Express took both halves over the Mighty Oaks by winning the first 35-16 and the second 53-29.

Wells shot nearly 55 percent from the floor that included nearly 45 percent from beyond the arc. Andrew Richards had the hottest hand by sinking 80 percent from beyond the arc. His four threes from the bench along with a foul shot allowed him to co-lead the team at 13 points. Ty McBride also had 13 points with a dozen coming from Keia Montera and 11 from Jalen Feliz as the team's four double-digit scorers.

The Express grabbed 46 boards on the night with Matt Burg registering a team-high five. Four rebounds each came from Anthony Nesci, Jalen Tribble, Izaiah McPherson, Quentin Battle, Jabari Smith and Feliz.

The Wells College men's basketball team officially opens its season Nov. 9-10 by hosting the Finger Lakes Classic Tournament against Hiram College (Ohio) and Cabrini University (Penn.), respectively.
