The Wells College men's basketball team had a strong start and were in control for the majority of the opening half, but Medaille came on strong in the latter part of the first to deliver a 99-63 loss to Wells on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

After the teams traded opening baskets, Wells went on a 7-0 run to take a 9-2 lead with four points coming from Izaiah McPherson. The Express still clung to a 14-13 lead just past the midpoint of the first before the game went in favor to Medaille.

McPherson finished with eight points after shooting 4-for-5 from the floor. Jalen Tribble and Jahlil Nougues were Wells' only double-digit scorers with 11 and 10, respectively. Keian Montero added nine from the bench.

Ty McBride had team highs in assists with four and steals with three while adding seven points. Tribble had a team-high four boards for the Express and recorded a pair of blocks, as did McPherson.

The men's basketball team heads to New York City this weekend to take part in the NYU Tip-Off Tournament. The Express begin against host NYU on Saturday, Nov. 23 with a 5 p.m. start.
