HALLETT AND CRANDALL SCORE IN LOSS TO MEDAILLE

Aurora, NY –The Wells College men's lacrosse team lost 29-2 to North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Medaille College on Monday afternoon in Aurora. With the loss the Express fall to 0-9, 0-3 in the NEAC, while the Mavericks improve to 4-7,  2-1 in the NEAC.

Kylan Hallett (Basom) and Matthew Crandall (West Valley) each scored for the Express while Kyle Brimm (Geneva) finished with 27 saves in the loss. David Kaus (Erie, PA) and Crandall each led the team in groundballs with four. Hallett finished 7-17 on the face-off.

10 different Mavericks players scored including eight goals and three assist from Joe Glieco (Williamsville), four goals and four assist from Dave Bennett (Macedon), four goals and two assists from Jordan Ellis (Orchard Park), and five goals from Jeff Zacharias (Kirkville). Caleb Higgins (Clarence) led the team in groundballs with 10 while Dan Evans (Palmyra) finished 20-30 on the face-off including seven groundballs.

The Mavericks led 7-0 at the end of one quarter and were up 16-0 heading into the half. The Express would score their first goal with 4:56 remaining in the third, but the Mavericks offense would be to overpowering as they would go on to net ten more goals over the remaining 19:56 to seal the victory.

The Express return to action at home against Penn St. Abington on Wednesday, April 22nd  at 5:00 pm.
