WELLS MEN’S LACROSSE DEFEATED BY PENN ST ABINGTON

Aurora, NY - The Wells College men's lacrosse team lost 21-10 to Penn St. Abington in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon in Aurora. Despite the loss, the Express' 10 goals were the highest total in the program's two year history. The Express previously put up a program high six goals in a 12-6 loss to Mt. St. Vincent on April 12, 2008. With the loss the Express fall to 0-10 on the year while Penn St. Abington improves 1-11.  The win also marked the first win in program history for Abington.

Kylan Hallett (Basom) was the offensive standout for Wells, finishing with four goals and four assist while Adam Neider (Rochester) also had an impressive day netting three goals and three assist. Kenneth Edmonds (Rochester), Matthew Crandall (West Valley), and Christopher Burger (West Valley) each had one goal for the Express. David Kaus (Erie, PA) finished with 18 saves in the loss.

Six different players scored for the Nittany Lions led by Nathan Meyers (Jenkintown, PA) game high six goals and two assist.  Ian Lydon (Cheltenham, PA) earned the win in net finishing with 20 saves.

The Nittany Lions would score eight of the first nine goals holding an 8-1 lead after first period. The seven goal margin would prove to be insurmountable as the Express were unable to climb any closer to the Nittany Lions.

The Express will return to action on Saturday, April 25th at they take on Gywnedd-Mercy at 2:00 pm in Aurora.
