MUNSELL SCORES FOUR GOALS IN LOSS TO KEUKA

Aurora, N.Y.–  The Wells College men's lacrosse team fell 14-5 to the Keuka College Storm in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. Dan Munsell (Doylestown, Pa./Central Buck West) netted four of the five goals for the Express, while Kyle Brimm (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) finished with 20 saves in the loss. Chris Redington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) led ten Keuka scorers with eight points, scoring one goal and assisting on seven others. The Express fall to 1-7 (1-1 NEAC), while the Storm improve to 2-5 (1-1 NEAC).

Munsell gave Wells their only lead of the game early in the first quarter, blasting a shot by Storm goalie Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) for an unassisted goal at 11:39. The score remained 1-0 for the majority of the first quarter until Storm attack man Anthony Jones (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran) took a feed from Chris Redington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) and found the back of the net to tie the game, 1-1 with 5:24 remaining. David Miller (East Syracuse, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) scored what would be the eventual game winning goal two minutes later to give the Storm a 2-1 lead.

Keuka continued to build their lead finding the back of the cage four more times for a 6-2 lead, but the Express would strike just before the break as Kylan Hallett (Basom, N.Y./Akron) fired a shot off a pass from Dan Hunt (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) with one second remaining to trim the lead to 6-3.

The Storm picked things up in the third and fourth quarter peppering the Express goal with 25 shots, scoring eight goals, while allowing just two goals by the Express as the Storm ran away with the victory.

The Express hit the road next against NEAC opponent Medaille College on Sunday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. in Buffalo, N.Y.
