KEUKA STORMS PAST EXPRESS

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ The Keuka College Storm outscored the Wells College Express 14-1 over the second and third quarter en route to a 20-5 victory in North Eastern Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. Dan Munsell (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) and Forrest Lambert (Aurora, Colo./Overland) each scored two goals to pace the Express while Mark Butto (Rochester, N.Y./Schroeder) led the Storm with three goals and three assists. The loss drops the Express to 3-6 (1-3 NEAC) while Keuka improves to 7-4 (4-1 NEAC).
 
Munsell opened with the game's first score, rolling towards the Storm goal and rifling a shot top corner for a 1-0 Express lead less than 30-seconds into play. Keuka responded with four straight scores to open up a three goal lead. Munsell fired back with his second goal,  scoring on a swim move over three Storm defenders and senior Kylan Hallett (Basom, N.Y./Akron) scored just a minute later, muscling his way through the Keuka defense, scoring low post and pulling the Express to within one goal (4-3). Keuka added a late score by Anthony Jones (Syracuse, N.Y./Corcoran) to enter the second quarter with a 5-3 lead.
 
It would be all Keuka from there as the Storm outscored the Express 14-1 over the next two quarters, including seven straight goals and four man-advantage tallies, opening up a 19-4 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The two squads each tallied a goal in the final frame bringing the game to its final score.
 
Keuka held the advantage in shots (57-16) and ground balls (43-28) while finishing 17 of 28 on the face-off and a perfect 15 of 15 on the clear. The Express finished 11 of 28 on face-off and 12 of 14 on the clear.
 
Gino Marcello (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) scored four goals, Chris Reddington (Tully, N.Y./Tully) chipped in with three goals, and Nick Judge (Clifton Springs, N.Y./Midlakes) added two goals and one assist to round out the highlights for the Storm. Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) earned the victory in net finishing with four saves. David Kaus (Erie, Pa./N.W. Collegiate Acad.) suffered the loss in net finishing with 13 saves for the Express.
 
Wells returns to action on Saturday when the travel to take on SUNY Cobleskill at 1 p.m. in Cobleskill, N.Y.
