EXPRESS THUMP NITTANY LIONS

(Abington, Pa.)─ Dan Munsell (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) and Kylan Hallett (Basom, N.Y./Akron) each scored five goals as the Wells College men's lacrosse team rolled to a 17-5 victory over the Penn. St. Abington Nittany Lions in North Eastern Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Abington, Pa. Kyle Brimm earned the victory net finishing with 13 saves. Pat Gillespie paced Abington with two goals. With the victory the Express improve to 3-2 (1-0 NEAC) on the season, while the Nittany Lions fall to 0-9 (0-1 NEAC).
 
In all seven different players scored for the Express. Jonathan Mulcahey (Fulton, N.Y./Fulton) added two goals and six assists; David Kaus (Erie, Pa./N.W. Collegiate) added two goals and one assist; Chris Burger (West Valley, N.Y./West Valley) chipped in with one goal; Steven Mack (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free) tallied one goal and eight groundballs while finishing an impressive 16 of 23 on the faceoff.
 
The Express held the advantage in shots (38-37), groundballs (34-25), while finishing 14 of 16 on the clear and converting on 2 of 5 extra man opportunities.
 
Wells scored early and often, scoring five goals in both of the first and second quarter. The Express continued to dominate the Nittany Lions opening up 13-0 lead and it wasn't until 5:33 remaining in the third that Abington got on the board. The two teams traded goals in the fourth quarter as the Express cruised to their third victory of the season
 
The three wins this season mark the most in the program's young history, while the 12 goal difference was the largest margin of victory in program history.
 
The Express will look to continue their winning ways when they take on Medaille College on Wednesday, March 30 at 4:30 p.m. in Buffalo, N.Y.
