DOLAN SHINES IN LOSS TO ALBRIGHT

READING, Pa. – Despite four goals from freshmen Nicholas Dolan (Englewood, Colo.), the Wells College men's lacrosse team fell 22-8 to Albright College on Sunday afternoon in Reading, Pa. The loss drops the Express to 0-2 on the season while Albright improves to 3-0.

Daniel Munsell (Doylestown, Pa.) added two goals and Alex Manley and Christopher Burger (West Valley, N.Y.) each tallied a goal to round out the scoring for the Express. Christopher Galluzzo (New London, N.Y.) and Kyle Brimm (Geneva, N.Y.) split duties in net for Wells; Galluzo finished with four saves in 18 minutes while Brimm finished with 10 saves in 42 minutes of play.

Dan Foote led Albright with five goals and two assists while teammates Ryan Turner and Andy Poitras each scored three goals.

Bryan Smith scored a man down goal at 10:19 of the first quarter to give Albright an early 1-0 lead. Munsell fired back for the Express, finding the back of the goal on a feed from Mulcahey to tie the game (1-1) less than two minutes later.

Albright scored five straight goals to open a 6-1 lead before a man-up goal by Dolan cut the lead to four 6-2. However, Albright continued on the offensive end, scoring five more goals to extend their lead to 11-2 before two straight man down goals by the Express stopped the run. The Lions finished the first half with four goals to take a commanding 15-4 lead into the break.

It would be much of the same from Albright in the second half, opening the third with three straight goals as they would cruise to the non-conference victory.

Albright held the advantage in ground balls 64-23 and shots on goal 36-13.

The Express return to action next Sunday when they travel to take on SUNY Canton at 1 p.m. in Canton, N.Y.
