Jansen Selected As NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Freshman Connor Jansen (Horseheads, N.Y.) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the week prior, the conference office announced late Monday afternoon. Jansen and the Express posted a 20-13 home victory over the Hornets of Lyndon State College last Tuesday afternoon at the North Athletic Field.

Jansen recorded a career-high mark of 11 points, scoring seven goals and four assists to break the all-time single game scoring record. The Express, who scored a program-record 20 goals as a team, earned their first victory of the season. With seven of his team's 20 goals, Jansen also tied Dan Hunt for the single game record in goals scored – Hunt had accomplished that feat twice in his career. The freshman also collected 18 face-off victories for the Express - as a team, the Express won 22 face-offs, also setting an all-time program record in that category.

Amongst NEAC competitors, Jansen ranks 12th overall in scoring with 25 points on the season via 17 goals and eight assists in only six games played. His 17 goals rank him 11th overall in the conference as well.

The Express return to action Wednesday, Apr. 17 as they face-off against Houghton College in a 5:00 p.m. road contest.
