Shuster Holds National Lead In Caused Turnovers Per Game

AURORA, N.Y. – Junior Hayden Shuster (Careywood, Id.) of the Wells College men's lacrosse team led all NCAA Division III men's lacrosse players nationwide with 4.6 caused turnovers per game in 2014. An official "statistical championship" is not awarded for caused turnovers as the NCAA considers the statistic "informational".

Shuster recorded 46 caused turnovers in 10 games played before succumbing to an injury down the stretch. In 2014, Shuster recorded at least one caused turnover in each of his 10 games and recorded nine caused turnovers in a game twice, first against Green Mountain on Mar. 8 and again against Alfred State on Apr. 1. Furthermore, Shuster averaged 6.3 ground balls per game to rank 56th nationally amongst qualifying players.

Entering his final season at Wells in 2015, Shuster ranks first in program history with 105 career caused turnovers and 2.84 caused turnovers per game. Second in ground balls with 188, Shuster has played in 37 career games to rank fourth all-time in the team's seven year history. A Third Team All-NEAC selection in 2012, Shuster has registered five assists for five points (0-5=5) across his career.
