Three Earn NEAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Awards

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Three members of the Wells College men's lacrosse team earned North Eastern Athletic Conference All-Conference placement, the conference office announced on Wednesday. First, Second and Third Team All-NEAC teams, along with other major awards, are nominated for and selected by the conference's coaching staffs.

Sophomore Aaron Heisey (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) was named a NEAC First Team All-Conference selection while junior Alex Milliken (Hilton, N.Y.) drew Second Team All-NEAC recognition. Senior Connor Jansen (Horseheads, N.Y.) wrapped up his career with a Third Team All-Conference nod.

Heisey becomes only the second member of the Wells men's lacrosse team to earn First Team All-Conference merits after scoring 16 goals and five assists for 21 points (16-5=21), winning 113 face-offs for the Express to place fifth in the NEAC. He also concluded his year with 72 ground balls, ranking third in the conference, while picking up at least one ground ball in all 14 games on the season.

At the face-off "X", Heisey won at least 11 face-offs in five different games that included three tilts against league opponents. He also served as a key offensive weapon for the Express, scoring at least one goal in each NEAC tilt while tallying at least one point of offense in all but one game.

In 27 career games played, Heisey has scored 37 goals and 12 assists for 49 points (37-12=49). Ranking fifth all-time in career goals scored (37) and face-off winning percentage (.387), his 49 career points is the eighth-best total by a Wells men's lacrosse player since the team debuted in 2008.

Milliken was selected to his third career NEAC All-Conference team, earning Second Team honors for the second-straight season. He finished sixth in the NEAC with 46 points of offense (28-18=46), racking up the ninth-most assists (18) and scoring the league's 11th-most goals (28). He also secured 48 ground balls to rank 15th in the conference.

In the season-finale against SUNY Cobleskill, Milliken scored three goals and three assists for six points (3-3=6) to give him exactly 150 points in his three-year career. Tallying 99 goals and adding 51 assists, he enters his senior season in 2017 needing only 10 points to tie the career program record.

Since joining Wells as a freshman in 2014, Milliken has recorded at least one point in all of his 37 career games played. Additionally, he has struck for at least one goal in 34 of those contests. A two-time team Most Valuable Player award winner, Milliken earned his team's Rookie of the Year award to begin his career.

Jansen earns NEAC Third Team All-Conference for the second time in his career, finishing his senior season with the 11th-most points in the conference with 42 (27-15=42). Eleventh in the league with 15 assists, he also finished with the 13th-most goals scored (27) and man-up goals (three). He also did damage against conference opponents, ranking 16th in NEAC point and goal scoring.

Striking for his 100th career goal in his team's season-finale against SUNY Cobleskill, Jansen finishes a productive tenure with 104 goals and 56 assists for 160 career points (104-56=160), the team's all-time leader. A career-best 28 game point streak that spanned three seasons (3/8/14 to 3/19/16) ended against SUNY Geneseo on Mar. 22, but he would ultimately record at least one point in all but two of his 48 career games played.

His team's Rookie of the Year in 2013, he has served as a three-time team captain and graduates as his team's leader in other offensive statistics, including assists (56) and game-winning goals (four). His 104 goals is ranked second all-time, as is his face-off winning percentage of .454.
