The Wells College men's lacrosse team fell by an 11-5 score at SUNY Poly on Wednesday night, April 18. Poly's goalkeeper Jared Laird made 14 saves to help keep the Wells offense at bay. Wells is 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. SUNY Poly is 8-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
Brady Hoose opened the scoring with an unassisted goal one minute into the opening quarter, but SUNY Poly scored the next four goals of the quarter and led 4-1 after the first.
Hoose and Carson Combs scored in the second quarter. Tanner Mingen and Aaron Heisey added second-half goals.
Hoose finished with two goals and an assists to lead Wells in scoring.
Zack Simone made 13 saves.
Wells held a 12-6 advantage in faceoffs and 47-41 advantage in shots.
Wells returns to play Saturday, April 21 with a road game at Bryn Athyn College.
