Men's Lacrosse Claims Three Spots On All-NEAC Teams

Three members of the Wells College men's lacrosse team earned all-conference recognition for the 2018 season as the North Eastern Athletic Conference announced its all-conference teams and annual awards on Wednesday, May 2.

Tanner Mingen earned NEAC First Team honors as a short-stick defensive midfield specialist, Aaron Heisey made the NEAC Second Team at midfield, and Brady Hoose was a NEAC Third Team attackman.

It is the third year in a row that Wells has been represented with a selection to the NEAC First Team and the fourth consecutive year that the Express men's lacrosse program has had at least three players earn all-conference recognition.

Mingen, a senior from Houston, Texas, earned all-conference recognition for the second time in his career. He was a third-team selection at short-stick midfield in 2017. In 2018, Mingen contributed in all aspects of the game for the Express. He led the team with 33 caused turnovers and 93 ground balls. Mingen ranked third on the team in goals, assists, and points, and also saw time at the faceoff X. In conference games, Mingen was second in the NEAC in caused turnovers with 26, and fourth in ground balls with 58. He was 25th in the conference in scoring, in addition to his defensive excellence.

Heisey, a senior from Mechanicsburg, Pa., earned all-conference honors for the second time in his career. He was a first-team selection at midfield in 2016. In 2018, Heisey totaled 35 goals and seven assists for 42 points. He led the team in goals and tied for the team lead in points. In NEAC games, Heisey ranked fifth in the conference in goals (22) and 16th in points (26). He was second on the team in ground balls. Heisey graduates from the program as the all-time career leader in ground balls and third all-time in goals and points.

Hoose, a senior from Syracuse, N.Y., earned his first all-NEAC honor with a spot on the third team. The attackman led Wells with 17 assists and ranked second on the team with 25 goals. His 42 points shared the team lead with Heisey. Within conference games, Hoose ranked eighth in the NEAC in points, and 10th in both goals and assists. Over his two-year Wells career, Hoose totaled 54 goals and 79 points.
