Senior Spotlight: Joe Stoj

Senior Spotlight: Joe Stoj

With the cancellation of the remainder of the spring season and the winter championships, at least one Wells College senior spring student-athlete will be highlighted each weekend. Today's featured student-athlete is senior Joe Stoj from the men's lacrosse team.

Joe is a psychology major from Depew, N.Y. who plays defense for the Express.

Wells men's lacrosse coach Andrew Daly had the following to say about Joe, "Joe came ready to compete no matter what we were doing; be it practice, games or eating chicken wings. He joined the team late in his Wells career and became an instant contributor and always brought a positive energetic attitude to our team!"

In addition to his time with the men's lacrosse team, Joe also spent time with the men's basketball team. Wells men's basketball coach Joe Wojtylko added this about Joe, "Joe represents everything that you could hope to have in a student-athlete. He competes just as hard in the classroom as he did on the court. He is a fiery competitor that always put the team first. I can honestly say that our program and all his teammates were better off having Joe as a member of our family. He will be missed. To quote Joe, 'We're working'."

Over Joe's lacrosse career at Wells, he appeared in 16 games and started 15 while accumulating 48 groundballs and registering 20 caused turnovers.

During the shortened 2020 season, Joe started both games the team played and registered 14 groundballs and five caused turnovers.
