MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS D'YOUVILLE

Elma, NY-The Wells College men's soccer team received goals from three different players, including two goals by Delroy Roberts (Schenectady, NY), as the Express went on to defeat NEAC opponent D'Youville College 4-2 on Saturday at D'Youville. Justin Rigney (NY,NY) and Blasdimil Gomez (NY,NY) also scored for the Express.

Roberts got the scoring started less than a minute into the game as he was able to find the back of the net off a pass from Robert Werbos (Marlton, NJ) for a 1-0 lead. D'Youville would tie the game, 1-1, on a goal by Joe Tomasi as both teams would enter the half tied. Wells outshot D'Youville 15-2 in the half and 3-0 on corner kicks.

Rigney scored just 1:30 into the second half to give the Express a 2-1 lead. D'Youville would again fight back and tie the game at 2-2 on a goal by John Geddis, but the tie would be short lived as  Gomez, playing in his first game of the season, punched a goal in for a 3-2 lead. Wells would add an insurance goal on Roberts second goal of the game to give the Express a 4-2 conference victory over D'Youville.

With the win Wells improves to 4-8-2 while D'Youville falls to 1-14.

Wells will next play against Penn. State Berks on Saturday, November 1st, at 2:30 pm at Penn. St.
