ACCORDINO NAMED SAAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Aurora, New York – Wells men's soccer player Nick Accordino (Hamburg, NY) was recently named SAAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 1st. Accordino recorded a goal and an assist while leading his team to 2-0 record in NEAC play, and helping the Express lock up the #6 seed in the NEAC Championship Tournament held this past weekend.

Accordino, currently a junior, majors in religious studies here at Wells. "I am a Religious Studies major, but I plan getting into Sports Management and Administration after College," said Accordino.

Accordino has a full slate as he is a member of the men's soccer team, Vice Chair of SAAC, Library Student Supervisor, and Orientation Leader. "I came to Wells because of the small class sizes and sense of community. I also I had an opportunity to develop the soccer program instead of just joining it. Playing a sport at Wells allows me to be devoted to soccer as well as my education at the same time. Being a two-year captain has helped develop my leadership skills both on and off the field."

The Wells men's soccer team recently had their season come to an end has they lost a closely contested game, 1-0, to the #6 seed SUNY IT in the quarterfinals of the NEAC tournament held on Friday, November 7th.
