Aurora, NY –Blasdimil Gomez broke a scoreless tie in the 74th minute and Justin Rigney added an insurance goal with less than three-minutes remaining as the Wells College men's soccer team went on to defeat the Penn St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Harrisburg, PA. Goale Mike Birklin finished with eight saves in the shutout victory. The win snaps a five game losing streak for the Express who improve to 1-5 on the season. The loss drops the Nittany Lions to 1-6 on the year.
Birklin and the Express defense were the story of the game as Harrisburg finished with a 16-12 advantage in shots and an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Express will next travel to Alfred University on Monday, September 21 to take on the Saxons at 7:00 pm.
