Aurora, NY –The Alfred University men's soccer team scored 4:19 into the second half, breaking a scoreless tie, as they held on to defeat the Wells College Express 1-0 on Monday night at Alfred. Express goalie Mike Birklin (Cicero) finished with four saves on the night while Cody Glassman paced the offense with three shots, two on goal, for Wells. With the loss the Express fall to 1-6 on the season. Bradley Willis scored the lone goal for the Saxons who improved to 6-2 with the victory.
Alfred held a slight 5-4 advantage in shots on goal and 8-3 advantages in corners on the night.
The Express will next take on the Keuka College Storm on Wednesday, September 23 at 3:00 pm at Wells.
