JOHN "DOC" COOK NAMED ASSISTANT MEN'S SOCCER COACH

(Aurora, N.Y.) John "Doc" Cook has been named the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Wells College recently announced by head men's soccer coach Dan Kane. Cook has coached at the Ithaca Youth Soccer Club and TC United Soccer Club teams for many years and was the Assistant Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at Ithaca High School prior to coming to Wells. Cook recently retired from a 30 year career as a firefighter with the Ithaca Fire Department.  

A native of Ithaca, N.Y., Cook graduated from Ithaca High School in 1973 earning honors as a STAC All-Star in soccer and baseball. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 1976 with a degree in mathematics/economics and currently holds a USSF State "D" and New York State Department of Education coaching license.  

The Wells men's soccer team will open up their 2010 season on September 1st when they take on Hilbert College at 5:00 p.m. at Wells College in Aurora, N.Y.
