MEN'S SOCCER EDGED BY NITTANY LIONS

(Harrisburg, Pa.)─  The Wells College men's soccer team fell in a tough game by a final score of 2-1 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Penn. St. Harrisburg on Sunday afternoon in Harrisburg, Pa.  Delroy Roberts (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) scored the lone goal for the Wells Express, while C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa./Western Wayne) finished with 11 saves in the loss. Jonathan Joseph and Caleb Hopps each scored to the pace the Nittany Lions. The Loss drops the Express to 4-5-1 overall, 2-2 in NEAC play, while the Nittany Lions improve to 7-1 (3-0 NEAC).    

Joseph broke a scoreless tie in the 21st minute drawing out the goalie and finishing the play with a goal to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead. Hoppes extended the Nittany Lions lead on header off a corner kick from Tommy Miller for a 2-0 lead with 15 minutes to play in the first half.   The score remained 2-0 until the 83rd minute when Roberts scored to bring the Express to within one goal, 2-1. The Express comeback would fall short as the Nittany Lions held on over the final 7:36 for the conference victory.  

Penn. St. held the advantage in shots on goal 13-6 and corner kicks 5-3 for the game.  

The Express resume play against NEAC opponent SUNY Morrisville on Saturday, October 2 at 3:00 p.m. in Morrisville.
