EXPRESS EARN FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON

EXPRESS EARN FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON

BRADFORD, Pa. – Patrick O'Callaghan's (Seldon, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) goal at the 13:15 mark of the first half would be the lone goal in the Wells College men's soccer team's 1-0 non-conference shutout victory over the Pitt-Bradford Panthers on Sunday afternoon in Bradford, Pa. Delroy Roberts (Kingston, Jamaica./Schenectady) assisted on the only goal while CJ Bayly (Waymart, Pa./Western Wayne) earned the victory in net with three saves. The win is the first for the Express over the Panthers in program history.

In the first half, the Express pressured the Panthers early and would eventually take advantage of a scramble in front of the net with Roberts finding an open O'Callaghan who tucked the ball inside the near post to give the Express an early 1-0 first half lead.

The two teams battled in the second half but were unable to find the back of the goal with Bradford holding a slim 3-2 advantage in shots on goal.  Overall the Express held the advantage on shots 5-3. The Panthers held a decisive advantage in corners (10-2) but were unable to translate that into any offense.

Adam Forster (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) suffered the loss in net finishing with four saves for Bradford.

The Express return to action this coming Wednesday against Hilbert College at 3 p.m. in Hamburg, N.Y.
