CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's soccer team posted a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats of Cazenovia College Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Express have dropped four straight games and fall to 7-8 overall on the year and to 4-5 within conference play. Cazenovia improves to 8-6-2 overall on the year and to 7-1-2 against NEAC competition.

The Express have not scored in their last 274:01, a span of three-plus games. The last time the Express were shutout in three straight games occurred on Sept. 1, 2009 through Sept. 6, 2009. In tonight's game, the Express placed only three shots on goal – two from forward Jonathan De La Cruz (Woodbridge, Va.) and one from Max Cherry (Ridgewood, N.J.).

Cazenovia picked up two goals in the first half to secure the victory. Dustin Gonzalez forced home a feed from Oleg Martynyuk in the 33rd minute while Conrad Normann's unassisted strike at 41:34 added extra insurance near the game's midpoint.

Express goalkeeper C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) drew the loss, halting seven of nine shots on net that he faced. Riley Battaglini posted the shutout victory, turning aside all three shots on goal.

The Express return to action Saturday, Oct. 27 as they host the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill in a 2:00 p.m. contest. In addition to the Friends and Family Weekend Barbecue held prior to the contest, the Wells College men's soccer program will honor their lone graduating senior student-athlete, defenseman Luke Miller (West Hartford, N.Y.), in a pre-game ceremony.
