Miller, O’Callaghan Selected To NEAC All-Conference Squads

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Senior defenseman Luke Miller (New Hartford, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Pat O'Callaghan (Selden, N.Y.) each secured North Eastern Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference honors, the conference office announced early Friday morning. The Wells College men's soccer team was one spot out of playoff position in the 2012 NEAC men's soccer tournament, posting an 8-8 overall record alongside a conference mark of 5-5.

Miller earns his first career All-Conference team placement this season, scoring three goals and two assists for eight points (3-2=8), tying for the team lead in that category. Miller scored the game-winning overtime goal against the Saxons of Alfred University on Sept. 19 and also was a perfect 2-for-2 on penalty kick conversions. Miller, named captain prior to the season by Head Coach Dan Kane, also led a backfield that allowed the fewest goals in the conference (17) as well as the best goals-against average (1.05).

For his career, Miller graduates this fall as the all-time program record holder in several categories, including games played (70) and minutes played (5,141). He also is tied for first place all-time with three career penalty kick conversions (3-for-3) while also ranking eighth all-time in both career scoring with 13 points and goals scored with four.

O'Callaghan also earned selection to his first All-Conference team this year, making 16 appearances while serving as a team captain alongside Miller. In his career, O'Callaghan has not missed a game, seeing action in all 50 career games dating back to his first collegiate contest on Sept. 1, 2010 against Hilbert College.

Across the past three seasons, O'Callaghan and Miller have partnered in a backfield that has posted 19 shutouts across the past three seasons. Dating back to 2010, the Express have not recorded a goals-against average north of 1.62.
