Men’s Soccer Plays To 2OT Draw With Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. – Despite outshooting the hosts by a 15-to-10 margin, the Wells College men's soccer team posted a 0-0 double overtime tie against the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College Friday afternoon at Charger Field. Wells (6-2-2, 1-0-2 NEAC) picks up their second tie on the season while the host Chargers (3-6-2, 1-1-1 NEAC) settle for their first league stalemate of the year.

The Express controlled play during regulation time, outshooting the Chargers by a 12-to-8 margin in the first 90 minutes. In the second half alone, Wells fired seven of their team's 12 regulation time shots in an effort to end the contest before overtime. The Express, however, were only able to fire seven total shots on goal throughout the game while missing the net completely on eight shots.

Wells goalkeeper C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) turned aside all six shots on goal that he faced across 110 minutes of action. Stefan Smith made seven saves in the complete game effort for Lancaster Bible.

The Express return to action Wednesday, Oct. 9 as they face-off against Keuka College in a 5:00 p.m. road game.
