Bayly Earns NEAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Award

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – For the third time this season, senior goalkeeper C.J. Bayly (Waymart, Pa.) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference's Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. Bayly and the Express are in the midst of their most successful season, tying the all-time program record for victories in a season (8-4-3, 3-1-3 NEAC) heading into this weekend's tilt versus Cazenovia College.

This weekend, Bayly recorded back-to-back shutouts against Penn St.-Abington on Saturday and Penn St.-Berks on Sunday. Against the Nittany Lions on Saturday, Bayly held the second place Penn St.-Abington squad to zero goals, making four saves across 110 minutes of action to pick up the shutout. Against Berks on Sunday, Bayly also made four saves to earn his 16th career shutout.

Since allowing five goals against Hilbert on Sept. 25, Bayly has allowed only two goals in his previous 507:02 minutes played. In NEAC play this season, in conference play, Bayly has started all seven games for Wells and has allowed only four goals to conference opponents in 690 minutes of action.

Across his four-year career with the Express, Bayly has racked up five Student-Athlete of the Week awards.

The Express host the Wildcats of Cazenovia College this Saturday, Oct. 26 at noon – with both teams tied at 12 points on the season, the winner of the game will claim the fourth seed in the upcoming NEAC Men's Soccer Tournament. In addition to Bayly, seniors Adam Sullivan (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Pat O'Callaghan (Selden, N.Y.) will be honored on Senior Day as a part of Friends and Family Weekend.
