Early Goal By Morris Powers Men’s Soccer Over Oswego St.

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Junior Tyler Morris (Maryland, N.Y.) scored the game's lone goal en route to a 1-0 victory for the Wells College men's soccer team over Oswego State University on Wednesday. With the win, Wells improves to 3-3-1 while the Lakers drop to 1-5-1 on the year. The Express, who debuted as a varsity program in 2006, pick up their team's 50th victory in their ninth season.

In the game's 15th minute, senior Charles Naula (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) sent a corner kick to the top of the box where a shot by Morris eluded the grasp of Oswego State goalkeeper Cody Peck for the game's only goal. In the contest, Wells fired nine shots while the hosts racked up a whopping 25 total in the contest, including 19 in the second half alone.

Wells goalkeeper Michael Sciotti (North Syracuse, N.Y.) made nine saves for his third victory of the season. Peck allowed one goal on four shots faced, drawing the loss. The Express held the 2-to-1 advantage in corner kicks, capitalizing with the game-winning goal on their first opportunity.

The Express return to action Sunday, Sept. 21 as they host Penn College, a newcomer to the North Eastern Athletic Conference, at 2 p.m. on the South Athletic Field.
