Sciotti Earns NEAC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Sophomore Michael Sciotti (North Syracuse, N.Y.) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference's Men's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance with the Wells College men's soccer team this past week. Sciotti and the Express picked up a road victory against Oswego State on Wednesday before defeating league-rival Penn College by a 2-0 score at home on Sunday.

In his team's win over Oswego State, Sciotti halted nine shots on goal for his second shutout of the season. Against Penn College on Sunday, Sciotti turned aside all three shots from the Wildcats for his league-leading third shutout of the season. Amongst NEAC goalkeepers, Sciotti ranks second in save percentage (.824) and third in goals-against average (1.09) through eight games.

For his career, Sciotti boasts five shutouts in only 12 games played and ranks second all-time in career save percentage (.794). He becomes the seventh student-athlete in team history to receive weekly league honors.
