Kaplan's Header The Difference In 1-0 Victory

AURORA, N.Y. – Sophomore Marshall Kaplan (Trumbull, Conn.) headed home a cross from classmate Jesse Constantino (Cincinnatus, N.Y.) in the game's 56th minute, elevating the Wells College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory against Bryn Athyn College on Saturday. With the win, Wells moves to 8-4-1 overall on the year to tie the program's single-season record for overall victories. Within North Eastern Athletic Conference play, Wells improves to 4-2 overall. Bryn Athyn (4-8, 1-6 NEAC) drops their eighth contest of the year.

With the score locked at zero through the first 45 minutes, the Express were able to capitalize only 11:38 into the second half as Kaplan's first goal of the season came at an opportune time. On the afternoon, Wells outshot Bryn Athyn by a whopping 24-to-6 margin but placed only five of the total shots on Lions keeper Ryan Weinkopff. Additionally, Wells held the decisive advantage in corner kicks (11-to-2).
