AURORA, N.Y. – Senior Charles Naula (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) scored the first two goals of his career for the Wells College men's soccer team en route to their 2-0 victory over Penn St.-Berks (4-13-1, 2-7-1 NEAC) on Saturday at the South Athletic Field. Wells concludes its regular season of play with a record of 11-5-1 overall and a North Eastern Athletic Conference mark of 7-3 – both stand as program records.

Naula's first goal of his collegiate career came only 3:47 into the contest. Senior Cody Primmer (Oneonta, N.Y.) sent a ball into the mix off of a corner kick that was headed on goal by classmate William Schanbacher (Spencer, N.Y.). The shot from Schanbacher bounced off the ground and then off of the crossbar. With the goalkeeper out of position, Naula roofed the ball just under the crossbar for the strike.

At 15:38, Naula struck for his second goal of the game to place Wells ahead by a 2-0 margin. Sophomore Marshall Kaplan (Trumbull, Conn.) corralled a loose ball and sent a pass to his right that was hauled in by Naula. With nifty footwork around a Berks defender, Naula was able to tuck the ball inside the right post.

The Express defense was able to keep the Nittany Lions in check as they limited the visitors to only two shots the entire afternoon. Wells applied pressure throughout the match, firing 27 shots total on the afternoon.

Wells backstop Michael Sciotti (North Syracuse, N.Y.) was able to secure his seventh shutout of the season, making a save on the only shot that he faced. Sciotti continues to lead all NEAC goalkeepers with seven clean sheets to his credit. Penn St.-Berks goalkeeper Kyle Baker did all he could to keep his team in the contest, halting 9-of-11 shots on net that he saw.

In addition to Naula, William Schanbacher (Spencer, N.Y.), Cody Primmer (Oneonta, N.Y.), Trevor Fahey (West Deptford, N.J.), Levi Christman (Sharon Springs, N.Y.), and Alexander Essandoh (Accra, Ghana, Africa) were all honored in a pre-game ceremony for their contributions to the program on Senior Day.

The Express have secured the No. 4 seed in the upcoming North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament and will face-off against the No. 5 seeded Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Abington in a game date and time to be determined.
