AURORA, N.Y. – After completing the most successful regular season in program history, the Wells College men's soccer team will open the postseason with a North Eastern Athletic Conference First Round home game against the No. 5-seeded Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Abington on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. on the South Athletic Field.

With a 2-0 victory against Penn St.-Berks on Saturday, the Express finished the regular season of play with a 11-5-1 overall record and a 7-3 mark within conference play. Wells is returning to the postseason for the first time since 2009 and will enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed, playing host to the No. 5 seed.

In the two team's regular season matchup in Aurora on Oct. 12, the Express eked out a 2-1 victory in overtime as sophomore Hunter Sowersby (Sidney, N.Y.) scored only 20 seconds into the extra stanza to lift Wells to the win. Penn St.-Abington outshot the Express by a 12-to-10 margin, but Wells capitalized on the first shot of the overtime period. The Nittany Lions hold the all-time series advantage, 3-2-1, dating back to the first-ever meeting on Sept. 26, 2009.

The winner of Saturday's game in Aurora will move onto the semifinal round of the tournament, hosted by top-seeded Morrisville State College on Saturday, Nov. 8. The host Mustangs will play the winner of the Wells/Penn St.-Abington game at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the 2 p.m. tilt, featuring the No. 2 Lancaster Bible College Chargers and the No. 3 Keuka College Wolfpack.
