Second-Straight NEAC Win For Wells Men's Soccer

The Wells College men's soccer team earned its second-consecutive conference victory with a 3-2 win over Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Wells Turf Field. Wells improved to 3-5-1 overall and 2-1-0 against North Eastern Athletic Conference opposition. Lancaster Bible fell to 4-6-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the NEAC.

Wells opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the game. Justin Bingham scored on a rebound after an initial shot from Kevin Schrank was saved by the Lancaster Bible College goalkeeper. That was the only goal of the first half.

Lancaster Bible scored to tie the game 1-1 early in the second half, but Wells scored the next two goals. Justin Bingham scored his second of the game in the 65th minute on an assist from Carlos Valdivieso, and Junger Vargas gave Wells a 3-1 lead with 4:23 left in the second half on an assist from Ryan Lanning.

LBC scored on a free kick from just outside the box with 2:41 left to play. The Chargers had a corner kick in the final 30 seconds that Wells defended and held on for the win.

Cam Davis earned the victory in goal with one save.

Wells and Lancaster Bible each took nine shots. Wells had a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.

The Express continues conference play with a Sunday, Oct. 8 home game at noon against Penn State Abington.
