Offense Surges In Men's Soccer Victory

The Wells College men's soccer team scored a season-best six goals and claimed a 6-0 win over College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, Oct. 21. Wells improved to 4-8-1 overall and 3-4-0 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Wells scored four goals in the first half. Ryan Lanning converted a pass from Junger Vargas in the fifth minute to put Wells ahead. The second Wells goal was scored by Justin Bingham, assisted by Adam Whitaker.

Vargas scored the third Wells goal, assisted by Carlos Valdivieso, in the 25th minute, and Daniel Caunter scored an unassisted goal with about nine minutes left in the first half to make it 4-0.

Second-half goals were scored by Kevin Schrank and Justin Bingham. Michael Bove assisted the Bingham goal.

Wells had a 30-10 advantage in shots and 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Three goalkeepers combined on the shutout for the Express. Owen May and Cam Davis each made one save. Mike Hartman also played 12 minutes, 30 seconds for Wells.

The Express is back in action Sunday, Oct. 22 at Gallaudet University.
