Double-OT Defeat For Wells At SUNY Canton

The Wells College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 game at SUNY Canton when the host Roos scored in the second overtime period to open the 2018 season on Friday, August 31 at SUNY Canton.

Wells had five shots and five corner kicks over the 90 minutes of regulation time. Junger Vargas led Wells with three shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Colton Jaquith made his first career start and had three saves.

The match-winning goal came 53 seconds into the second overtime session. A free kick was played into the penalty area by the Roos and numerous players gathered near the top of the box. Canton's Dustin Brown got a foot to the loose ball and scored inside of the right post.

The Express returns to action Sunday at noon at Ithaca College. That match will be played at Higgins Stadium on the Ithaca campus.
