Wells Men's Soccer Wins At St. Elizabeth

The Wells College men's soccer team ran away with five second-half goals in a 7-0 victory at the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Morristown, N.J.

The Express took the North Eastern Athletic Conference to improve to 2-6-0 in the NEAC and 3-11-0 overall. St. Elizabeth is 0-8-0 in the conference and 3-11-0 overall.

Wells opened the scoring in the 31st minute when a Junger Vargas shot was saved, but Dylan Wagstaff controlled and converted the rebound. Less than four minutes later Wells led 2-0 after St. Elizabeth scored an own goal. The Express led 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Mekhi Edge-Wallace scored on an assist from Vargas and Peter DiLauro took advantage of an Eagles turnover to score an unassisted goal.

Jasper Ehrhardt scored twice in the final 25 minutes of play and David Calvache converted a penalty kick with seven minutes left to account for the final score.

The Express outshot the Eagles 33-7, and Wells held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Colton Jaquith picked up the shutout for Wells.

Wells continues NEAC play at home Saturday, Oct. 20 against Penn State Berks at 3 p.m.
