Men’s Soccer Team Falls Late to Wildcats

The Wells College men's soccer team was on the verge of giving visiting SUNY Poly its first conference loss, but the Wildcats had a late surge of three goals within a three-minute span in the game's final 20 minutes to take the win 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Just past the midpoint of the first half, Mekhi Edge-Wallace converted a Justin Butler feed for the first half's only score.

The Express appeared impenetrable by playing more than 25 minutes of the game's second half scoreless and it looked as if the Edge-Wallace goal might stand as the game winner.

The comeback by the Wildcats kept their NEAC record at a perfect 4-0, while Wells fell to 1-3. Colton Jaquith made 11 saves for Wells in net and had to be sharp as the Wildcats were awarded 11 corner kicks.

The Wells men's soccer team next takes to the road to start the month of October with a contest next Saturday, Oct. 5 at Cobleskill State at 1 p.m.
