The Wells men's soccer team faced a tough challenge both on the road and before a big Homecoming crowd at SUNY Cobleskill. The Express were just three minutes away from sending the contest to overtime before the Fighting Tigers got a late goal to take the 1-0 win on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Express were on the verge of making a statement against the NEAC team with the third-best conference winning percentage. Colton Jaquith finished with six saves and out-performed his counterpart at the other end in the save department that was aided by a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks for Cobleskill.
Junger Vargas led the offense for Wells with a pair of shots, while one shot each came from Bergen Criswell, Mekhi Edge-Wallace and David Martinez.
Wells continues play on the road with a 4 p.m. matchup at Elmira on Tuesday, Oct. 8 in a non-conference matchup.
