Men’s Soccer Team Closes Out Home Season with Senior Day

The Wells College men's soccer team honored its two seniors prior to its contest with visiting Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Seniors Christian Garavito and Junger Vargas entered the contest with just one point separating their career point totals at Wells with 56 and 55, respectively.

The visiting Nittany Lions entered the contest undefeated in North Eastern Athletic Conference play and in first place. The Express played a close back-and-forth first half with just one goal separating the two teams entering the second.

Penn State-Harrisburg took the game with three tallies in the second half. Nine different players took shots for Wells that included Michael Bove, Nathan Soliman, Ben Rabe, Jimmy Stover, Peter DiLauro, Kevin Schrank, Justin Butler, Garavito and Vargas.

Colton Jaquith finished the contest with 13 saves, but the day belonged to the seniors being honored. Both Garavito and Vargas have been named to all-NEAC teams over their careers with the latest accolade going to Vargas this season as a NEAC Player of the Week.
