Men’s Soccer Team Concludes 2019 Season at Penn-State Berks

The Wells College men's soccer team concluded its 2019 season on the road at Penn State-Berks on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Almost all of the game's scoring was done in the first half. Berks scored first about 10 minutes into the contest, but the Express tied the game at 1-1 early with only 11 minutes gone by. The Nittany Lions would add two more before the half and take a 3-1 lead into the break. The teams traded opportunities in the second half with the lone goal coming with just about 10 minutes to play for Berks for a 4-1 final.

Christian Garavito scored for Wells with an assist credited to Junger Vargas. The Express held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks and finished the contest with 15 shots.

Leading the way offensively was Garavito with five shots followed by Vargas' four. Justin Butler and Nathan Soliman each added a pair, with single shots going to Michael Bove and Shane Syms. Defensively, Colton Jaquith registered eight saves on the day for the Express.

The men's soccer team finishes the season with a 5-13 overall record and 2-9 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
