TETER NAMED SAAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Aurora, New York –Wells College freshmen men's swimmer Michael Drew Teter was named Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 15th. Teter was selected for leading the men's team to a 62-12 victory over Cazenovia College on the Saturday. During the meet Teter and the rest of the men's 200 Freestyle Relay team set the all-time record at Wells with a time of 1:59.83. Earlier in the week Teter set the all-time individual record in the 200 Free Style against Utica College with a time of 2:02.86.

"Playing a sport is a huge time commitment. I don't think I would have become involved in Wells or met as many people if I hadn't. The other swimmers are just a great team that always knows how to have fun. They've taught me a lot about working together and becoming more involved."

Teter is currently a freshmen at Wells and plans on majoring in physics with a minor in math. "Hopefully, I'll continue to get my PhD," said Teter. I chose to come to Wells because of its small size. I like how the class sizes averaged around 10 and, coming from a small high school, the feeling of community that a small campus gives."

Teter and the rest of the men's swim team will take to the pool next against SUNY Cobleskill on Thursday, November 20, at 6:00 pm at Wells.
