JEFFREY DICK AND JACKIE ROSS NAMED NEAC SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

Aurora, NY– Wells College swimmers Jeffrey Dick and Jackie Ross have been named North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Swimming  Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 15th.

JEFFREY DICK (Albion, NY) was selected as the NEAC Men's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week for his four 1st place finishes in a dual meet pitting his Wells College Express against Utica College. The junior finished the 50 Yard Breast with a :31.59 time, the 100 Yard Breast with a 1:08.43 time, and the 100 Individual Medley with a time of 1:03.99. In team competition, Jeffrey helped his team take first in the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:51.56 time. Wells College does not sponsor diving so they found themselves down 32 points going into the swimming events where they fought hard, winning 25 points and nearly completing a miraculous comeback

JACKIE ROSS (Rensselaer, NY) was selected as the NEAC Women's Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week for her impressive five 1st place finishes in two meets for her Wells College Express. Ross, a junior, won the 100 Yard Butterfly with a 1:08.94 time and the 50 Yard Butterfly with a :31.11 time in a loss to Utica College on Wednesday. Ross took control in a 70-24 win over College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday, swimming the 50 Yard Freestyle with a :28.28 time, the 100 Yard Butterfly with a 1:09.63 time, and was a part of the 200 Yard Freestyle team event where they took first with a 2:02.40 time.
