SWIMMING FALLS TO BUFFALO STATE

Aurora, NY– The Buffalo State College swimming team took first in the first seven events in both the men's and women's swim meet as they defeated the Wells College Express 59-34 on the women's side and 51-34 on the men's side Wednesday evening at Wells.

Despite the defeat the men's team was able to set six new top ten times. The men's 200 Yard Medley Relay Team (Drew Teter, Jeffrey Dick, Daniel Schilling, Court Carnahan) finished with a time of 1:50.82 which places them second all-time. Schilling set a new record in the 400 Yard IM with a time of 5:24.68, while Teter set a new record in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:01.16.

Anthony Monachino rounded out the men's action finishing with a time of 1:23.46 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, 6th all-time, while finishing with a time of 1:06.35 in the 100 Yard Freestyle placing him tenth on the all-time list. 

In women's action Idolyn Villiotti finished with a time of 5:45.07 in the 400 Yard IM placing her tenth all-time in school history. 

Wells returns to the pool on Saturday, January 23rd when they travel to Mansfield, PA to take on Mansfield University and Univ. of Pitt-Bradford in a tri-meet set to begin at 1:00 pm on the Mansfield campus.
