SLEEZER SETS ALL-TIME MARK IN LOSS TO BROCKPORT

AURORA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's swimming team fell 64-51 to the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon in Aurora. Despite the loss, the Express set two new all-time school records while ranking in the top ten is several other events.

Matt Sleezer started the record breaking in the 200 Yard Freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 1:55.81, besting the previous record by nearly two seconds. Sleezer was also a part of the 200 Freestyle Relay team (Thomas Laier, Taylor Dunn, Zachary Dvornicky-Raymond) that set the all-time mark with a time of 1:35.14. The same relay team earned the fourth all-time mark in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:51.71, while Sleezer also earned a first place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 23:23.

Dvornicky-Raymond placed first in the 100 Yard Backstroke, edging out Dustin Wurster of Brockport (1:09.53) with a time of 1:09.44, earning the second all-time mark at Wells. Dvornicky-Raymond also set the fourth all-time mark in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:43.03.

Rounding out the highlights for the Express, Dunn set the fourth all-time mark at Wells in the 100 Yard Backstroke, placing third with a time of 1:06.39. Christopher Guard placed fourth in the 200 Yard I.M. with a time of 2:33.28 setting the 6th best team in school history, while teammate Ian Ronan set the 8th best time in the same event with a time of 2:41.09. Ronan also placed third in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:44.72, good four fifth all-time at Wells.

The Express return to action next Saturday when they travel to take on Utica College at 1:00 p.m. in Utica, N.Y.
