MEN'S SWIMMING EARNS RUNNER-UP HONORS AT NEAC CHAMPIONSHIP

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's swimming team earned runner-up honors for the second straight year at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Swimming Championship held on the campus of Cazenovia College. The Express finished with a three day total of 481 points while Gallaudet University earned their second straight overall championship with an overall total of 580.5 points. Cazenovia College placed third with 326.5 points and SUNY Cobleskill placed fourth with 277 points.

Records continued to fall for the Express in the third and final day. Taylor Dunn (Williamstown, Mass.) placed second in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:11.60 placing first all-time at Wells in the event. Thomas Laier (East Nassua, N.Y.) earned a third place finish with a time of 2:24.45 placing him third all-time at Wells in the event.

Matt Sleezer (Gloversville, N.Y.) placed second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 50.54, improving his Wells record holding time by .3-seconds.

Zachary Divornicky-Raymond (Hector, N.Y.) placed first in the 200 Breaststroke setting the NEAC championship record with a time of 2:25.95 while moving to second all-time at Wells in the event.

Chris Guard placed second in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:24.43 while Tyler Fischette (Weedsport, N.Y.) placed third in the event with a time of 2:29.77.

It was an overall successful championship for the Express who set six new schools records and three NEAC Championship records.
