AURORA, N.Y. – Junior Patrick Munroe (Williamsville, N.Y.) set the program record in the men's 200 Yard Butterfly as the Wells College men's swimming team posted a 68-49 loss to the Bengals of Buffalo State College Friday afternoon at the Wells College Aquatic Center. In head-to-head meets, the Express now stand at 2-6 overall on the season while the Bengals improve to 1-4 overall on the season with their first victory.

Munroe's time of 2:20.52 ranks him first all-time in men's swimming history. In the process, Munroe captured first place by edging Trevor Wilder by just over one second (2:21.70). Drew Teter set the previous program record of 2:21.20 on Nov. 6, 2010 against SUNY Brockport on the road. Munroe's time of 2:22.20, set on Nov. 10 of this year against Utica, also ranks him third all-time in the event.

Junior Matthew Sleezer (Gloversville, N.Y.) was the only other victor for the men's program against non-exhibition opponents, claiming victories in the men's 50 Yard Freestyle in addition to the men's 100 Yard Freestyle. In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Sleezer's time of 23.01 ranks second all-time in program history while his time of 51.69 in the 100 Yard Freestyle ranks third all-time in program history.
