COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Senior Alex Lamphear (Springfield, N.H.) of the Wells College men's swimming program set a program record in the 500 Yard Freestyle as his team competed at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships on Friday.

The host school, SUNY Cobleskill, is unable to provide accurate standings at the current time. Wells has won two NEAC Championship titles in their team's nine-year history.

Lamphear's time of 5:20.46 in the 500 Yard Freestyle placed him first amongst all nine NEAC competitors. Additionally, he shattered the team record of 5:23.57 set by Thomas Laier at the NEAC Championships in 2012. Freshman Owen May (Warsaw, N.Y.) took third with a time of 5:27.97 (career-best time) while sophomore Lucas Donnenwirth (Frankfort, N.Y.) placed sixth (6:29.42).
