Career-Low Times Spark Men's Swimming vs. Cazenovia

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Wells College men's swimming program recorded a 110-30 victory over the Wildcats from Cazenovia College at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges on Saturday. Wells concludes its head-to-head slate of meets with a 2-8 record while Cazenovia remains winless on the season.

Freshman Jordan Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted the fastest 100 Yard Individual Medley time in program history, completing the event in 1:09.71 to take first place while competing against two other Express teammates. Johnson was at it again in the 100 Yard Butterfly, capturing first place with a top time of 1:09.18.

Freshman Brandon Sprague (Brockton, Mass.) turned in the seventh-fastest 1,650 Yard Freestyle time in school history, touching the wall in 22:31.58 after his first-ever performance in the event. His time of 1:09.18 in the 100 Yard Freestyle is also a season-best time.

Several student-athletes registered career-low times in their events. Freshman Arthur Brooks (Morristown, N.J.) posted season-best times in the 100 Yard Freestyle (1:05.67) and the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:17.28) while junior Keith Davenport (Weedsport, N.Y.) swam his fastest 200 Yard Freestyle (2:16.43) and 100 Yard Butterfly (1:14.00).

Sophomore Tyler Lewis (Chittenango, N.Y.) joined his teammates with personal record times in the 100 Yard Freestyle (1:04.83) and the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:21.26). Sophomore Owen May's (Warsaw, N.Y.) time of 25 seconds in the 50 Yard Freestyle was also a career-low.

Shawn Snell (Hilton, N.Y.) completed the 100 Yard Butterfly in 1:15.67, the lowest time across his two-year career with Wells. Junior Lucas Donnenwirth (Frankfort, N.Y.) competed in both the 50 Yard Freestyle (29.03) and the 500 Yard Freestyle (6:15.48), setting personal records in the process.

Freshman Austin Heil (Medina, N.Y.) captured a second-place finish for Wells in the 50 Yard Freestyle (24.78), falling just short of a career-low time.

Wells will compete at the SUNY Delhi Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m.
