Men's Swimming Team Starts Campaign At Hartwick Relays

The Wells College men's swimming team began its season with relay competition in a meet that featured competitors from five teams at the Hartwick Relays on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Oneonta, N.Y. Wells placed fifth in team standings behind Hartwick College, Le Moyne College, SUNY Oneonta, and College of Saint Rose.

The Express started the meet by taking third in the 400-yard medley relay as Brandon Sprague, Arthur Brooks, Shawn Snell, and Tyler Lewis touched in 5:02.51. Later in the meet, another third-place effort came in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:51.65 by Brooks, Snell, Lucas Donnenwirth and Austin Heil.

The trio of Brooks, Snell, and Lewis placed fourth in 300-yard breaststroke relay with a time of 4:09.44.

Fifth-place finishes were turned in by the 200-yard medley relay of Donnenwirth, Brooks, Lewis, and Heil in 2:11.33 and the 400-yard freestyle relay of Sprague, Snell, Donnenwirth, and Heil with a time of 4:21.25.

Wells returns to action Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at Buffalo State College.
