Dual-meet Opener For Men's Swimming At Buffalo State

The Wells College men's swimming team traveled to Buffalo State for its first dual meet of the season. The host Bengals outscored Wells by a score of 184-65.

Ian Ronan led the noteworthy performances for Wells with a time of 1:09.31 in the 100-yard individual medley, which ranks third on the program's all-time performance list in that event.

Earlier in the meet, Ronan was barely edged in the 50-yard breaststroke, as he finished second with a time of 31.58 seconds, just 13 hundredths of a second behind the winner. He was also out-touched at the wall by nine-hundredths of a second in the 100-yard breaststroke, as Ronan's time was 1:11.64.

In distance freestyle events, Lucas Donnenwirth swam 6:19.60 in the 500-yard freestyle and 12:59.44 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

Donnenwirth also placed second in the 50 free with a time of 27.78.

Austin Heil was second in the 100 free with a time of 55.45 seconds.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Austin Heil, Lucas Donnenwirth, Tyler Lewis, and Arthur Brooks swam 1:48.94.

Wells will swim at Oswego State on Saturday, Oct. 29 in its next meet.
